Hi There, Welcome to my little corner of cyber space, I'm so happy you stopped by, my name is Janette Newman. I am an Artist - Decorative Painter - Folk Art Teacher - and Sales Representative for my business. I travel teach to Folk Art Conventions and have had the pleasure of teaching at Brisbane, Auckland, Sydney, Tamworth, Bathurst, Mudgee, etc., etc., etc. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and love teaching new students and introducing them to the relaxing pleasure of art. I worked as a sales representative for a long, long time and now as well as bringing you art, what's on news, patterns and lessons, I also have on my site paintings to sell. I have just made two bonnets and my students have made some too, I adopted two convict ladies one is Elizabeth Howarth and the other is Mary Ann Howarth......Howarth having been my maiden name........I don't know why they were convicts but I must try to follow their names up and see if I can find out. Most of the convict ladies that I have heard of so far were only poor and maybe stole things to support their families. I am proud to be a part of this venture and if you wish also to be part of this venture, the pattern for the bonnet is on her website for you to print off, embroyder roses and hearts and then adopt a convict lady and then forward the bonnet to Christina, you can tell her you saw this mentioned on my web site if you like........maybe I will see you there at the exhibition.......lets help her obtain the numbers she needs to make this a success. Teacher Alert:Janette Newman is always on the look out for Teachers to come to the Mudgee Gulgong area to conduct workshops....... if you wish to teach a class or two contact Janette and she will endeavour to promote a class for you ************************
Janette will teach her patterns at your studio, numbers need to be at least 8 people in the class for it to be viable for her to travel to your studio.

I teach classes in Decorative Painting in Mudgee, At the Bowling Club on Wednesday afternoon, if you are interested in joining in contact me, I also teach at the Masonic Club on Tuesday Afternoon, at Gulgong. I also travel teach at studios and conventions. I have been submitting and teaching at Folk Art Conventions around Australia and in New Zealand, since 2001 and thoroughly enjoy being part of everything. I have had many patterns published in the Decorative Painting Magazines and there are some more coming out very soon.
